BACKGROUND
There are two methods of communication with Oracle Applications: Packages and Open Interfaces. Packages allow the user to execute any Oracle-provided or custom Stored Procedure or Function, whereas Open Interfaces uses the newer higher-level business access methods provided by Oracle. Traditional integration solutions require writing custom code for each supported transaction written using either the Packages or Open Interfaces APIs and using some high-level language such as ProC*, PL/SQL, C++, etc.

FUNCTIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
The NLINK Oracle Applications CoNNector delivers integration to all of Oracle e-Business Suite Applications via two options:
The Open Interfaces component allows the user to access any of the newly introduced pre-built Oracle-provided business access methods. The Packages component allows the user to call any Oracle-provided or custom stored procedure or function supported by Oracle e-Business Suite Applications. It primarily provides a means for backwards compatibility over the newer, but not yet as widely supported, Open Interfaces approach.
Both options are built upon Oracle Call Interface (OCI) technology for the fastest and most efficient connection possible.

CoNNectors, eXtenders, the NLINK Server and NLINK Modules are components of a total environment for delivering process integration within and between companies. The NLINK product suite has been independently certified on Windows Server 2003 and Windows Vista as a pre-requisite for continued inclusion in the Microsoft Certified Partner Program. As you would expect, NLINK operates equally well on Windows 2000 and Windows XP. |
