The NLINK® Alert Module provides e-mail or pager alerts and notifications from NLINK to business analysts and IT support staff using the Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP). In addition, support staff can also subscribe to an RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed of NLINK Information, Warning and/or Error messages. With the NLINK Alert Module, NLINK can proactively notify your staff of any error or potential error condition, keeping your systems running smoothly by keeping systems outages to an absolute minimum.

BACKGROUND
NLINK is an enterprise-class application designed to function as an integral component in your mission-critical 24x7 business operational environment. NLINK contains sophisticated error detection and handling capabilities that can be used to alert your IT staff or business users of error conditions should they occur. Without proactive notification of error conditions support staff can be unaware of systems or business process problems until it is too late.

FUNCTIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
The NLINK Alert Module provides many functional highlights:

• For business analysts, you can configure any type and number of text messages to be sent to any number of e-mail recipients, based upon literally any operational condition or behavior of the NLINK Server.

• For IT support staff, you can specify an NLINK error level threshold. Any NLINK errors that are logged at this level or above will automatically cause an automatically formatted e-mail to be sent to the specified e-mail addresses.

• Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) is a pervasive e-mail technology supported by all modern operating systems and commercial e-mail systems. RSS is an emerging syndication standard that is widely used on the Internet.

• Sophisticated e-mail notification and RSS syndication capability comes built-in to NLINK.

CoNNectors, eXtenders, the NLINK Server and NLINK Modules are components of a total environment for delivering process integration within and between companies. The NLINK product suite has been independently certified on Windows Server 2003 and Windows Vista as a pre-requisite for continued inclusion in the Microsoft Certified Partner Program.
